really would a temp sensor cause all of that? i noticed that my coolant gauge doesnt work on the dash or it is sparatic. it goes up a little then nothing more. then if you shut the car off then turn it back on it is up a quarter of the way. i dont know how the coolant temp could affect the idle of the motor..
btw, the car drives normaly with no problems. No misfire or anything.

The coolant temp sensor affects fuel mixture because the motor needs to run rich on a cold start, so a bad sensor could make it idle rough. Not sure if these cars have a separate sensor for the cluster though, but generally if 1 is bad then the other is likely not too far off.
