Default 1998 Audi a4 2.8 quattro cylinder 6 misfire

Just recently (2/09/14) I got codes p1127 and p1129. Before I got them, the car was idling very rough and randomly stalling. I cleaned the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner and it seemed to do the trick. The car was idling smooth and it never stalled when driving around town. On Monday, the check engine light came back on -(when I got codes p1127 and p1129, the light flashed for a couple of seconds then became solid when I put it into gear, I have learned that a flashing CEL means a misfire, but when I had it checked 5 minutes later, there was nothing about a misfire, any ideas here?) Today, I took it back to O'reilly's to have the light checked. The man said it was cylinder 6 misfire (I never got the code number). He initially thought the computer gave a false diagnostic and cleared the light. I started the car and the light immediately came back on, same problem. He said it is rare to find a single cylinder misfire. He mentioned that either the coil pack or ignition wires are bad. He ordered in a set of ignition wires to begin with. Now before I spend $150+ on those wires, I want to get some other possible ideas. I know the spark plugs and vacuum lines have recently been replaced (I've had the car for about a month, purchased it from an audi technician). What are some other things to cause a misfire on a single cylinder?

Please, do not just start throwing parts at that car. Do a resistance test on the ignition wires before you buy new ones.

Other things that can misfire one cylinder?
  1. low compression
  2. bad injector (p1127 and p1129 are both about injectors)

I simply replaced the spark plug, and it's working fine. Nothing has come up and the car is running silky smooth.
