1998 A4 2.8 Quattro Front wheel bearing needed.
As stated above I have a 1998 A4 2.8 5V quattro in need for front wheel bearings. I am a machinist and have all the tools and a press to do the work. What I need is a good place to order the parts from. NAPA is saying they want 135$ for one. Is this a far price?
I am not looking for something sport oriented. This is my winter car (I drive an M3 in the summer). I just need a good OEM replacement part.
I did a forum search but did not find much on the part it's self. That being said I never seem to have much luck searching forums. I am sure it is here somewhere I have just missed it. Sorry if this is a repost of a common question.
I love the car and plan on driving it till there is nothing left.
Any help with this would be great. Thanks very much for your time.

The thing about Napa is that you rarely know what company manufacturers something for them because all of their stuff is rebranded from various manufacturers. What if their wheel bearing for us was made by a crappy brand like Timken? Do not want!

Sorry, $50-$130. Depends on if you want genuine OEM or not.

I ordered 2 from ECS Tuning part #ES#1487
Thanks very much for the info. It was a very big help. Great forum and I look forward to posting again. As this car has 188k on it I am sure I will be back soon.
Thanks again.

No prob. You will find that the sticky posts at the very top of the thread have a lot of useful information, I would recommend scouring those to get up to speed on common things to expect with these cars. If the stickies don't have an answer you're looking for, the advanced search is usually pretty good at finding things, just run your search for one or two general keywords (IE in this case you would have just searched "wheel bearing." The search function can be temperamental when you get too specific.) and then have it narrow the results by B5 subforums only, usually that'll get you some results, but if it doesn't give you results at all or the information you're looking for isn't in the results that do pull up, post up and see if anyone else on here can guide you to what you're looking for.
