Default 1997 Audi A4 - 2.6 Tiptronic Gearbox

Hi all hope you can help?

I think I got water in this gearbox of mine. The cooling pipes of the oil that runs through the radiator corroded so to the best of my knowledge I got oil in the radiator and water in the gearbox. Big sigh!

I have bypassed the cooling system and added a external oil cooler so far.

My problem however is the gearbox now and I know nothing about this at all.
I think the cable part (and I may be totally wrong on this) of the shift ie from Park to Drive,Neutral or Reverse seems to be jammed in the gearbox itself.
I cannot shift at all. I'm in Neutral at the moment so I can start the car.

As far as I understand I need to flush the gearbox and somehow fix this jam - again it maybe something totally different.

Any ideas would be super helpful.

These transmissions are electronically shifted, there is no cable going from the shifter into the transmission. Perhaps its your brake interlock solenoid that keeps you from shifting it out of park if you don't have your foot on the brake?
