I asked in a thred what are some basic mods I can do to get some extra hp and I was told to get rid of my 2.8v6 and get a 1.8t I'm new to audis so I wanted to know...

What do you drive and which do you prefer as a better b5 and why you think... Just so I can get an understanding.. Thank you

 

I drive a 2.8qm.. n its true.. u wanna mod go 1.8 u wanna reliable dd get a 2.8.. I'm very happy with my 2.8. No issues yet just the usual elective gremlins.. other than that I love it n wouldn't trade it.. yeah u get a lot of ricers trying to rev u up n take on u on corners.. but just ignore that n know that Ur ride is sicker n more elegant in every way.. I love speed n muscle as well.. but my situation had me choose a 2.8 over nodding the **** outa of car.. n a 1.8 has more problems to deal with like turbo messing up or not spoiling over heating .. n oil sludge from what I read.. more money to fix.. n I been reading that the 2.8 is a better if not the best engine Audi developed during that time... My 2 cents

 

Plus stock on stock.. 2.8 wins.. .

 

So I can't mod a 2.8? **** makes me wonna buy a 1.8t... I thought a bigger motor more hp then a 1.8t I couldve made the basic mods and maybe throw some motor work in there also but is it worth trying to mod a 2.8?

 

034 just released a turbo kit for the 2.8. you need a bunch of s4 stuff. go ahead and mod the 2.8 its just not worth the money.

 

Like i said on your other thread. Chip it. Thats the only thing i would do if i had a 2.8. Actually id get an exhaust too cause the 2.8 sounds nicer.

 

Yeah what he said n some rims with good suspension. N ill be set.. trust its like they say.. if fast n HP is what u want outa this car.. u picked the wrong make

Again like i just posted on another thread the speed tuning group by is about to end. $130 for a chip is a great deal and a lot of people cant wait to see the results it has on a 2.8. Pm auh if interested 10th payment is on its way in the mail supposedly and then were going to proceed with sending ecus so hurry if interested.
