1.8T starter - clicks but not turning
Solenoid clicks, but starter not turning.
Took it out.
The solenoid clicks when 12V is applied (to connector "50", where grey push on connector goes).
The starter turns when 12V is applied to the shorter of the 2 large bolts, but NOT when applied to the long one where the 2 thick wires are bolted to.
Nothing connected to the pin left of "15A".
Is there an internal 'fuse' between the long/big and short/big nut?
What can be checked on the starter?
Since solenoid clicks and motor run: can it be fixed?

If you apply 12v to both the long lug and 50 it should engage the solenoid and turn the starter. If not it just means that the solenoid isn't passing voltage to the starter.. Your going to need a new starter solenoid

Will install as is first; if not happy with the unit, can later still swap solenoid over later.
Internally, there must be relay to close battery contact to motor contact, which is likely bad.
