Default 1.8t or 1.8t sport

Hello everyone just registred to these forums today and could not find this info in the search, wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.

Basiclly i am looking to buy an audi a4 (1995-1999) , a one with a turbo.

So i live in the uk and found out there are 2 models of the 1.8T , there is one just named audi a4 1.8t and one that is 1.8t sport and i have heard that the 1.8T is 125bhp whilst the 1.8 T sport is 150bhp , was just wondering if this is true? , and if it was possible to get the 1.8T model to the same bhp as the 1.8T sport with a just little bit of engine mods like change the turbo.

This is really confusing to me, i know the sport model has sport suspension but why is it faster then the 1.8T.

any help would be apreciated.

Thank you

Hmmm... well I'm new to the 1.8t platform. Since you're looking at a <99 I know for a fact they're 150 hp as the 2001's are 170hp. But I hadn't heard of 125hp. 25hp is a big difference between the same engines so all this noob can guess is that if this is true the only way it can be so different is a restrictive exhaust, low input of intake and a detuned turbo. This is more of a question for the B5 veterans

correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe they are both 150HP. the sport points to the suspension and the wheels. they only brought more HP in later years. I think it was 01 or 02 where it came in at 170HP or there abouts.

yeah thats what i am thinking , but anyone know the fact's because the sport model is more expensive, and i am not just going to pay more just for the suspension.
