02 sensor question
hey i have a 01 a4 1.8t awm and i keep goin through the rear 02 sensors makeing my car run in limp mode and i have a test pipe in... so my ? is can you put a resistor inline with the heating wire and trick it out? i have an extra o2 sensor and my cars running in limp now because of the 02 sensor goin out neone go ne ideas on how to do this

Shouldn't put it in limp long as it's the rear (only thing a test pipe would effect), but instead of resistors like you would in a dsm or what not, you can put in an anti foul. Pretty much the same for a spark plug and just acts like an extender.

You can put a resistor in for the rear O2 heater, but not the rear O2 sensor portion. Rear O2 sensors should never put your car into limp mode, though. And the "anti fouler" can SOMETIMES work but don't expect it to work catless. It's more useful for high-flow cats that are borderline clean enough. The newer the car, the less likely the trick to work.

yea i tried the anti fouler and no such luck i was only asking about the read because when i go the car scanned it showd the rear o2 with no activity so i replaced it made sure all the codes were clear and it workd fine for a day or so car maxing out at about 9 or so psi then i was driving on the highway and blam pegged out at 5 again. so i do notice the car does smell a little rich or so in the tail pipe but could that just be from havin gthe borla exhaust and no cat? i was thinkn if the cars running to lean or rich itll throw it self into limp so how could i fix that? and im sure if i were to chip it they couldt program it to run not as rich or lean right?
