165? You can buy the whole dash assembly for 120. Jeez I got mine for free from a wrecking yard. If I were you I'd go and talk to them and tell them it takes 30 seconds to remove and offer like 5$. I might actually have a spare lying around if you have no luck.

 

Even if that fits the slot in your dash, the angle might be a little different so that it's not level when it's out. I'd find one from a B5. And yes, scour the junkyards.

we have audis galore in our yards, plus the prices i don't think anyone will ever beat ever, 250 for a complete engine!

 

where are you located? I need an engine and tranny for a b5 passat 99. I was actually planning on parting the thing out but if i can get an engine THAT cheap...

hate to tell you this but my quote of 250 for an engine was...... too high 185 for an engine. I'm going to post this price list for you too look at. I know theres a 1.8t auto in the yard as of last week so i can pull the whole deal. theres even more VW than there are audis so your in luck
