almost all of them go bad there not cheap to replace at all ether live with it or source a part out

I'd replace that soon if I were you. That goo will eventually leak out all over your radio and HVAC controls. Ask me how I know

R&R is easy. There may or may not be a set screw at the bottom of the bracket that holds the mirror. If there is, loosen it. If not, just slide it up towards the roof of the car. Be careful not to apply too much outward pressure on the windshield, don't wanna crack it. Once the mirror is free of the windshield, unplug the electrical connections to it. Replacing it is the same steps, but backwards.
