Default 01 A4 inside mirror

I look in my inside mirror and it suddenly has a bronze tint except for an oval that is silver.

Did the automatic dimmer system lose it's mind? And what do I do?

Thanks.

I'd replace that soon if I were you. That goo will eventually leak out all over your radio and HVAC controls. Ask me how I know

I've been looking for a replacement since I bought my car, so good luck with that lol

Thanks for all the responses. Just as I thought.

I shouldn't have any problem finding one at the many German salvage places here in Southern CA.

If anyone would like me to hook you up,just let me know.

I can't figure out how to R n R it.

R&R is easy. There may or may not be a set screw at the bottom of the bracket that holds the mirror. If there is, loosen it. If not, just slide it up towards the roof of the car. Be careful not to apply too much outward pressure on the windshield, don't wanna crack it. Once the mirror is free of the windshield, unplug the electrical connections to it. Replacing it is the same steps, but backwards.
