ok soo this dude at work is claiming that he can smoke the **** outta me with his 2000 BMW 528i 5 speed and the only mod he has is an intake....
I have a 2001 A4 1.8t with a speedtuning chip. labree hfc, aidbox mod(if its worth anything), forge splitter dv, and Magnaflow exhaust from the flexi pipe back, 17lbs southbend fw and their stage 3 clutch...
what do you guys think? ? ?

 

i think youd take him, especially with some curves. yesterday i took a 540i in my 2.8 a6. he had 2 other people in the car that slowed him down, but i still took him on a sharp turn. maybe he was just *****, but hey, a wins a win. took that turn rated at 15 mph at about 57 lol.

^^^if your 2.8 is stock, then that guy didnt know how to drive. he shouldve won. i just sold my 2.8 A4 AND my 1999 bmw 540i msport 6spd...friggin rocketship. the 2.8 had NOTHING on the bimmer's 4.4L v8...NOW...a 1.8t with your mods should definitely take the 528...even though BMWs tuning is phenominal and a 2.8 engine in BMW is faster than a 2.8 audi, with your mods you should take him easily.

 

The car is a 2.8 I6 running about 190 HP new. The car is also bigger than the B5.

But at the end, it also depends on each of the driver.

but now ive ben hearing round work that this guy has a 50 shot of NOS.....

like some have said it's mostly on driver skills. if you're comparing cars, you would win but by very little. i have ST chip too and just an intake. my friend has a 99 528i 5 speed and i drove the crap out of it. it's really not that fast but it's not slow.

 

They'd be close, depends on who's driving and what has been done to each. I'll vote for the a4. It's kind of an unfair race though. The 528 weighs about twice as much. Put it next to a 3 series for a better comparison.
