I'll start off by saying I don't know my way around my A4 like I know my was around my DSM.While changing the oil this week I noticed some trans fluid on the tranny. I followed the leak up to where it looks like the shifter rod enters the transmission.

Where the rod goes in it is leaking fluid out from there. Can someone let me know what seal that is that I need to replace?

Are you sure it is transmission fluid?

What transmission do you have? Manual has gear oil, Tip has transmission fluid.

If manual, I would just check the gear oil level.

 

Its a 5 speed. The leak is coming from the seal where the rod goes into the tranny. I'm going to top it off for now but I'l like to fix the source instead of putting a band aid on it.

Do you know what part it is I'm talking about?
