Default "High Performance" Intake

Hey everyone, I'm attempting to make my own inlet tube with a cone filter, and what not. I know I know, I'll lose power but not the way I plan on doing it. Any how my question is does anyone know where I could buy a tube or part similar to the metal tube in this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...731&rd=1,1

The tube with the flange to relocate the MAF. Thats what I need is to relocate the MAF. If anyone could help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.

you could just use the whole maf assembly and connect 2 silicone hoses one to each side

well you want to use the stock maf houseing or one the same size because it is scaled to use that diameter of pipe. and the plastic things are there to straightn out the incoming air. the stock maf dosent need to be larger. i made 337whp on a stock maf.

Do you have to get a custom heat shield in order to use this air filter mod? i'm worried the inlet pipe and air filter being outside of the box will get too hot...

as posted above, here is the ebay kit:

Thanks...

^Yes you should make or buy a really good custom heat shield otherwise you will be pulling super hot air.

When I first installed mine I used the OEM heat shield and then after I made my own heat shield I could tell a MAJOR difference from pulling hot air to cold air
