RE: You won't believe this.
man, im cool with the 42dd guys, one was a customer of mine. also they are local here in MD so i have to support them and shy away from the knock off. KEEP IT IN THE USA. plus i cant believe that the korean quality will match US quality. find out what metal he is using and what type of welds. i believe the 42dd is stainless with tig. for you nueroitic i hope it works out awesome, but i dont want to see this come to production, only for political reasons i guess. this is also why i dont fabrictate alot of the partsimake in house, itwould be too easy for someone to replicate them. i pulled 30 hp out of my tt with homegrown modsat one point, have since went to more conventional ways of tuning.

lol... the guy isn't necessarily gonna "replicate" the 42DD downpipe. He said he'd build me a downpipe and originally he said the biggest that could be done was 2.8". I countered that by telling him that a few companies had already done it. He asked me to prove it and that if I could show him where a company had done it... he could do it too. I showed him a picture of the 42DD downpipe... but I seriously doubt he memorized the picture. He will be building it on his own based on space in the vehicles engine bay. I wouldn't consider it a knock-off. I would consider it a custom exhaust... nothing more. the guy doesn't even have a picture of the 42DD. I just used that to prove to him it could be done.
he is using Stainless steel and steel woven flex points. not for sure what type of weld. I didn't ask yet. I'll take pictures.
by all means... please don't think I'm trying to bootleg ANYTHING. I just thought I was doing something good by helping folks out if this guy was infact able to build a 1.8t 225 quattro downpipe. If he does infact do it... it will be completely original. But if you guys don't want me assisting in production of a downpipe for a reasonable price because it could take away from the business of other companies that charge an arm and a leg... not a problem. I will use it if it works.. I will not push it.
Side Note: Does anyone know of a good 3" straight line high flow mufffler? I'm going to try to run dual straight line mufflers on this setup if the test pipe method turns out good.

Magnaflow makes tons of strait though mufflers along with Borla. You can get a nice magnaflow for about $80-115 and Borla's are a little more.
If you want, you should get a muffler that goes from a single inlet to a dual outlet so you can cut down on weight and on space needed.
