when you first try to start the car it will run for about 4 to 5 secounds then die. Then will just turn over.It sat in the cold for about a month because it wouldn't start. We finally got it in the garage to try and keep out of the wind. But does the same thing.thought maybe the cat was clogged, but the bolts are rusted before the cats. The turbo seemed to load up and hiss out the pipes under the car, then that stopped now when you turn it over there is no more hissing and seems harder to try and start-starts for 4 secounds then dies.

Can you get the car to run longer on starting fluid? If a car sits a long time, it has a hard time drawing fuel again, because all the seals are dry.

I had it idolling for a minute at about 1000, and then it kinda bogs out? I talked to a buddy of mine who owns a GTI turbo who also went to school wyotech, and he said that it could be the honeycomb fried in the Cat when turbo builds to much pressure, what are your comments on that?

From what I gather, it sounds like there is more to this story.

First the car broke and wouldn't start. Then you leave it outside for a month and try to start it? There is two different problems here. I'd need to know the condition of the car when it first broke. Was it running poor? Smokey? Did you mod it? Got codes? What model?
