RE: window problem....????
Crazy - The SAME thing happened to me today. I have a '00 TTQ with 45,000 miles on it. Last week I would get in my car and when I closed the door the driver's side window would go halfway down on it's own. I thought it was strange, but just blew it off. And then it started doing it more and more. And today, I moved the window into the down position and when I tried to move it up, it didn't respond. BUT, after a while it finally went up. About two hours later, I moved the window down and now it's dead, completely. It won't go back up. The passenger side window works just fine. I'm hoping it's not a window motor b/c that costs over $500.00 bux to replace. This sounds more electircal, but who knows? Either way, I'm gonna have to pay out the wazoo. Have you done anything since posting?

Crazy, if you here clicking then it sounds to me like the motor took a dump. Im not sure of the inner workings of the TT yet, but if they are like anyother door the door silenoid is getting power (the clicking) put the motor is dead. Its weird that it fell all the way down though, that sounds like the gears stripped and the support bracket couldnt hold the window up.
Chitown, sorry to say but I think you are hosed dude. You may start with the window switch. It could be that the switch just went bad. Not sure if that will be any cheaper than the door motor. I dont know how hard it is to do, but you may try switching the good side switch to the bad side and see if the issue follows the switch. Its a start.

crazy-
if what you call a clicking sound is actually a "crunchy" type of noise then it is the cable regulator. very common problem with this type of door setup. what happens is the wound up cable that pulls the glass up has come unwound. in which case you need to replace the cable regulator assembly. if you know a reputable glass shop, they will be able to do the labor for you.
