White smoke from exhaust and sever loss of power
well guys the car has been pouring smoke from the exhaust at idle " the frequency whenever i go out and keep the runing at idle for about 5 mins it starts smoking more than it use to once a week now its everyday when i go for prolonged periods" its burnt oil cant mistake the smell, i recently got a new turbo to replace the old one however i havent been able to put the car at the shop to replace and need the car right now for work, recently the car has become much slower than it was and the boost fluctuates a lot especially in 3rd gear and 4 gear pulls. is this linked to the white smoke or might there be something else.

If it smells like oil, its probably oil, and probably a very light shade of blue smoke, not white smoke. White smoke indicates burning coolant usually.
If your turbo is leaking oil and burning it, theres a chance the exhaust side is beginning to get caked up with burnt oil, which would cause the loss of power. If you're replacing the turbo anyway, I'd just concentrate on getting some time to do it. THe longer you wait, the worse your car is going to be. Not to mention, if you're running a catalytic converter, you could be plugging that up as well.
