2003 TT with 180hp motor, Tiptronic auto trans

After having a bit of trans trouble, and because several posters mentioned replacing fluid & filter, i ordered a kit from Blauparts. Now I've got it but I'm stuck - cant find the filler plug on the trans.

An old post here indicated the drain port & fill port are the same - but I'm not buying that because there are separate parts in this kit for each.

I'm not draining this thing until i _know_ I can refill it - so can anyone here give me a clue as to where the filler plug is located?

 

Fill plug is the transmission pan. Need special filling tool for the job.

 

I'm looking at the pan - there's only one plug - which has to be the drain plug, as it's different than the replacement fill plug that came in the kit. I need to find the fill plug.

 

It might be worth buying the info from Alldata. it does show a separate drain plug but i usually just pull the pan down & drain into oil drain.
The plug in the pan is the inspection hole for the fluid & in most cases the same spot where the fluid is filled into. It also involves monitoring transmission temperature with a scan tool that has the capability to read transmission data(Vag-Com is my tool of choice most of the time).
One more thing is that when transmission fluid levels are checked the vehicle Must Be level!
