Default RE: Wheel hop?

Definition: An undesirable suspension characteristic in which a wheel (or several) moves up and down so violently that it actually leaves the ground. Wheel hop can be caused by many problems, including excessive unsprung weight, insufficient shock damping, or poor torsional axle control.

so like if you were about to launch you car and you rev it up and drop the clutch instead of the wheels spinnining, they would actually hop? Is that the same thing?

Drag racing starts;rev the engine real high, dump the clutch, and your wheels will jump up & down (partly) because of engine movement, resulting in a loss of traction. If you want better traction when doing this then you need the kit.

I think its hydropneumatic suspension upgrade rather than a problem used on show cars and expensive

isn't this a good thing? means no one is having problems.

actually my car is making a hollow howling noise at 3500-4500rpms in all gears. almost sounds like what the vtda soundclip only i have a stock airbox. if i push the clutch and keep the revs at 3500-4500 the sound is not there.

thoughts?

When i first installed my vtda, it had that howl, mine was more in between 2800-3000. Does it kind of sound like the noise it makes when you blow on the top of a coke bottle. Kind of a deep whistle?
