Well, I changed my timing belt..
The belt and tensioners looked OK, but the water pump impeller was about 1/2 mising. It now has a metal impeller. Before the change the temp read just past straight up between the top mark and the next, after the change it rides in the same place. Is that a normal spot for the thing to read?
I never want to do that again.

Did you replace your thermostat too? The high temp may be either a thermostat problem, or possibly the temp sensor on the engine is reading incorrectly and needs replacing.
Check the Climate Control diagnostic on channel 49 to see what that reads.

Straight up is normal operating temperature plus or minus one hashmark. The slight variance mught just be an early sign of the cluster going bad.
Mine is getting done tommorrow after 10 weeks or so of being undriveable. While I'm in there tinkering I'm doing a, greentip coolant sensor, Iridium plugs, samco turbo inlet, neuspeed intake, intercooler fogger, sirius radioand possibly installing my methanol/water injection as well. Hopefully it wont be such a dreadful experience. I'm actually fairly excited to get it back with more toys then it broke down with, mostly freebies.

When the temp actually gets high you will getan indicator in the digital display. If that ever happens turn the heat on full blast and keep it out of boost and you should be able to limp it a few miles to get it off the road.

I got the dieselgeek kit, so I have the new inlet tube and thermostat yet to install, but I can do that later from the looks of it, I dont think I need to go at it as deep as I did today, that sucked bad.
