Default be wary of forum advice

I posted questions about installation of a new upper grille on my 2001 tt coupe. I was told more than once that it would have to be installed from the inside and therefore the bumper would have to removed to do the installation. After taking another look at the clips on the replacement grille, it became obvious that it could easily be installed from the OUTSIDE, without removing the bumper, which is a fairly formidibletaskfor the amateur mechanic. Take forum advice with a grain of salt and both eyes open.

good thing you made this post. it made me really look at adivise people give twice..*shakes head*

YOU SERIOUS?!?!

I was thinking someone told you that you could do something and you blew you engine or caused $XXXX in damages. Come on man, this is weak. You could of said that it was possible to do it without taking everything off, but claiming people give bad advise, this is [sm=lame.gif]

Way to use your own common sense for a simple task to get the job done!
Good for you! You should be very proud of yourself!
Wait just a minute....
Oh yeah... I remember you... You're the one that couldn't even take his bumper off.
I guess that's why you had to figure another way around it! Hmm....

I just wonder why it took you so long to figure out how to put the new grill in. I mean you only made 3 separate threads about it!
All of which you never bothered to respond back to. Maybe THAT'S why you had such a difficult time!
Guess it doesn't matter, still funny stuff!

Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings. Removing the bumper on a tt is not as easy as it at first appears. So, why advise removal if you can, and apparently should, install the grill from the outside? Life is complicated enough without jumping through extra hoops. Some of the suggestions about things like tire size can be expensive if incorrect. Replacing the Haldex can cost real money.

No feeling hurt, just really big laughs, at well...nm.

Plus there are some really knowledgable people on here that give very good advise and if someone says something that is wrong, they will be corrected by several people that really do know. Its just really sad that you think you do one little task and try to bash the entire forum. You made your life easier, way to go! Next time dont ask the same thing 86 differnt times and then do it yourself.

Thats kinda how a forum works. You ask a ? and people help you out. If you keep it in ONE thread, you get the information faster and people dont have to dig through your crap to find the information they need.

a forum is like getting crappy service from one resturant but the food was good just because the service sucked that one time doesn't mean that it always sucks and since the food was good you will return. if you ask a question on here fellow audi drivers answer your question to the best of there knowelge but people are different and we all have had different experances with our cars so you take what they say and keep it in the back of you mind and look it over before you remove something and see the easyest way to get the job done then you should return to the post and say that you found and easyier way to do so we can all learn, and pass it on to others
