i asked mr. schwing what size diam. K&N filter he used for the inlet and he used all 3"s.
he supplies a ring that fits inside the filter inlet that reduces the diam. down for 180 use.

Went to pick up lunch with a co-worker today and I drove. The entire way their she kept asking, "What is that? Why is it making that noise?" She was referring to the sound the intake and DV make. She's rode in my car before and didn't notice any sound. The difference today was the cover was off and running just the cone filter.

Okay after all this debate I've been reading I was curious about trying my VTDA w/o the cover. I do enjoy the DV sound, much louder than before. Also noticed a little more power in the 4500-5500 rpm range it felt a bit more smooth. One downfall though no more low rumble I love the sound you get with the cover on. Personally I paid for a K&N air filter with a cover over it, just for a low rumbleand I think I'm gonna keep it that way. Just my opinion

i just took the cover off my vtda... i already have better throttle response... the only noticeable loss is the growl it produces but the car already responds better...
