i wouldnt mind knowing whats was on my car if anything. When i bought mine the guy told me it was prefect, clear vin etc. I took my bumpers off for the body kit and my rear aluminum bumper was bent, not badly but still bent. the guy got rear ended and the cover popped back out just fine, enough to paint and sell the car. i think i would only be worried if he asked me to mail him a set of my moms dirty panties, but i wouldnt mind videos of myself in the shower or someting of the sort.

What can you really do with a VIN number anyways? File for a lost title? Not much that can be done with it. I don't think it is a scam, but I don't like that he is asking for money to "look" up the VIN for someone. If he wants to be cool, just look it up. It only takes 1-2 minutes and can just copy and paste, so it is not like it is typing or anything.

Hard to tell if it's a scam. I know a lot of people that work at dealerships give free carfaxes to their friends. But the key word is free.

Paypal = your address
VIN = can cut a key to get your car

Thus, it's a risk your car could be stolen. I remember seeing someone get their supra stolen the same way, via a supra forum.

btw, autocheck.com sucks ***. I had both for a while and carfax always gets way more reccords.

Thats the VIN for the old TT that I totaled. Would be interesting to know where that ended up, and whether it was crushed or not after I totaled it.

I'm not interested enough to pay money though...
