Default Vac/boost leak testing help

I've had a problem lately with boost. Ive noticed that under normal load the car sounds as if the boost is being vented into the atmosphere.
I have checked the car with vag-com and from what I see Im not out of spec. I decided to just pressure test the system and built a pressure tester for the TIP. I followed this write up from vortex click.
The problem I ran into is that I cant keep the TIP on when pressurizing the system, the pipe pops off around 5 psi [:@]. If I hold it down I feel the pressure escaping through the oil cap (???) So Im a little confused to what Im doing wrong.

What am I doing wrong? any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Where is the TIP blowing off? At the turbo or at the Pressure Tester?

As far as leakage into the system, did you clamp off the PCV valve? You'll get some pressure leak back through there.

You won't be able to pressurize the system up so it will hold, you will have leakage through the PCV and through the throttle body. Try to get it up to 10 PSI or so and listen for leaks.

Its blowing off at the turbo and I do have the PCV valve clamped, in the vac diagram its the Pressure control valve for crankshaft housing ventilation, right?(the on that goes to the hockey puck looking thing)
It really sucks because it seems as if the TIP is the only thing being affected by the pressure, it will start to inflate like a balloonand at about 4-5 psi it'll pop off.

any signs of a leak anywhere else @ 4psi? If you're lucky, thats enough to weed out any leaks.
