Default Turbo disconnect

Hi, I have a 2001 TT 225 hp and i would like to just temporally disconnect the turbo from kicking in, so i can get my smog check taken care of. The simplest way would be most welcome.

Your car wont run and actually make emissions worse. A properly maintain car will pass smog as long as you have a proper cat. Now if you had a 3.2L, thats a different story

thats not really the problem. When they try to run the test at 2500 rpm the turbo kicks in and won't let the car run at 2500 for long enough to accomplish the test. They can't put it on the dino because it's a Quattro so they have to run the test on the floor. every time it reaches 2500 the rpm's jump up and the test hast to be run at 2500.

Dino = saur, its a Dyno.

If your operate had any throttle control, it wouldnt be an issue. He is incompetent.

BTW, you can operate the car in fwd only by pulling a simple fuse.

I think the best answer here is that they need to exempt your car from testing if they don't have the facilities to properly test it. Harass them about it.

BTW, how is your car spooling if its out of gear sitting on the shop floor? You forget to turn off your anti-lag?

i used to work for the emissions company here in missouri, and we tested plenty of turbo cars, like cincy said your tester is incompetent if he can't test the car, tell them if they can't test your car right, just sniff test it or like stated above give you a waiver

i would not let them start messing with fuses though, cause if they are that incompetent to test the car properly you wouldn't want them to mess with anything else..... and if they have any "skills" they should be able to stay out of boost, i do it all the time
