Tuning Question
I am FINALLY getting my 03 225 a power upgrade, I have a local shop that is having someone custom tune the car for me! I was told to expect a 30HP and 50 ft/lb gain, but I was wondering what this means in terms of fast driving.I already installed a Modshack VTDA intake and a Forge DV, but I'm wondering what my final number will be at the end of all this....can anyone help me out there? Also, what does that do for 0-60 or quarter mile time? I know, the TT is a car meant for the twisties, I'm just curious to know!!

RE: Tuning Question
i passed 3rd grade math, let me take a shot
225 + 30 = oh shoot, i might be over my head here.... no wait...... 255....I GOT IT!!!! YAY!!!
210 + 50 = here we go again....260? Yeah thats right.
Not sure about 0-60 but the 1/4 should be ~14.0

RE: Tuning Question
Awesome I'm a big fan of comedy!
No but seriously I realized that with the tuning adding 30, HP is255 and 50more ft/lbsis 260, but I didn't know what difference the VTDA made in the whole equation....+ 10HP maybe? + 1HP? That's what I was curious about....thanks for the 1/4 time, anyone have any idea about a 0-60? My old 04 S4 was like 5.3 or so, I'm just wondering so I can get a mental preview of a butt dyno!

Should be just a couple tenths off the 0-60. The problem is that it is really hard for someone to go out and measure that. 1/4 times on the other hand.... REALLY EASY and a better determinate of power/speed. Go race a civic with a b18 setup where you have a .3 or .4 sec better 0-60 time and they just go right past you in the 1/4.

RE: Tuning Question
What is he tuning and are you chipped. Sounds like an empty promise to me by your mech unless he has a USB to OBDII port connector to adjust everything. By the way Cincy you cant use the snapon computer to adjust just view it sucks. Im going to look into trying to find an adapter than makes his vagcom cable seral port go to a serial/USB for a computer so i dont have to spend over 300 bucks for one.

RE: Tuning Question
Definitely no empty promises, I've been going to this shop for awhile and they've done wonders with my previous cars (99 A4, 00 S4, 01 S4, 04 S4).......I'm not chipped but that's why I'm having my ECU done with a custom tune. The TT is a whole lot lighter so I'm hoping I notice bigger difference than with the S4's...

RE: Tuning Question
According to www.060calculator.com, a car with 260HP, with all wheel drive, manual transmission, and a curb weight of 3400, the car will be around 5.5 seconds....with 270HP, 5.3!! Sounds nice, but figured I'd check with the experts!
