TT VAG-COM Faults Found
Hi All,
Well just received my VAG-COM cable from a mate today and ran a total scan of my 2002 TT Quattro 180bhp with dumpvalve (previous owner paid to be fitted) and it is reporting a fair amount of faults (see below).
Now the main problem i have having is that the coolant level is jumping up to 80C on the intruments as soon as i start the car from cold and goes up to red 130C+ within 5mins of driving where in fact the intstrument test i ran in VAG-COM showed 50C-80C so i presume that im not running the car too hot and that the intsrument is showing a false reading?! I have also just replaced the Green Temp.sensor for a brand new Green one and same readings on the intstuments.
Any guidance to my coolant temp. problem and VAG-COM faults appreciated as i only have the car a month and would like to get it running 100%

Sorry the Valve is silver but the shroud is purple... here are pics of the dump valve and the readings im getting for coolant level from cold.
Dump Valve 1
Dump Valve 2
Coolant Level reading of TT when car off & cold
Coolant Level reading of TT when car started from cold
Coolant Level reading of TT when car running for 10 mins
Also ive noticed that the both fans at from of grill dont spin when car is idle?! Should they?

RE: TT VAG-COM Faults Found
That is actually a Baily's twin piston bov. Should be closed at idle and work fine. Not sure whats wrong with your car. I would go to vwvortex and put in the codes and see what people had to do to cure each of them.

RE: TT VAG-COM Faults Found
ok thanks..good to know.. and people say the dual piston DVs are good so thats something at least. When u say goto vwvortex do you mean the forum for TT there?
Thanks again for the help mate as not only do i have all these faults, wierd temp. readings but my TT wont go into reverse and is stuck in my sloped drive and i have it less than a month! []

RE: TT VAG-COM Faults Found
You should search the archives in the 1.8t section on there. All the codes are the same between both audi and vw. Here is the searchJust hit the drop down box, then hit T (gets you to the tech section) and the first one after that is the 1.8t section
