Does the uper grille on a tt install from the outside or the inside? Removal of the old grille will be fairly easy since it is badly broken.

 

you will have to remove the bumper and install it from the inside of the bumper... should just clip in from there

 

I tried removing the bumper, but I didn't make much headway. All the peripheral screws came out ok, but there seemed to be some I couldn't see or reach in the middle.

 

There are several screws along the top under the engine compartment trim. You also have to remove or pull back the wheel well liners, there are two 10mm nuts that have to be removed on each side. You'll need a 10mm deepwell socket and an extension to reach those. Then there are two Phillips screws on the bottom of the cover. After all of that, just lift it off.
