I have never seen a roof rack for any type of roadster such as what you have drawn. I did find a thread from a MR2 owner trying to develop something similiar to what you are looking for: http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB2/viewtop...highlight=rack

I'd want it raise up a little.

What if you just did a single tie bar from the middle of the front to the middle of the rear no my version?

I dont want it for a ton of use. It would be like, hey I need to run to lowes and pick up 4 10' 2x4s. Or hey I need to transport a ladder.

If I bought a coupe I would still have to spend a gazillion dollars on the oem rack.

Barrow the A4 or rent the truck at Lowes. And with a coupe, you could fit the 2x4's with them sticking out the back a tiny bit
