Default TT Roadster Rear Window Broken plz HELP locate replacement

Like the title says, the rear window on my roadster was just broken an hour ago and I can't find anyone with this part.

I had just reglued the dang thing with 3M weatherstrip adhesive because it was practically falling off. I had it nice and perfectly sealed.
My siblings where playing around with a slingshot in the driveway and where jokingly pointing it at the car. [:@][:@]

Long story short, murphys law is a bitch. If you guys know where I can get this part and how much it costs it will be greatly appreciated

you cant replace just the window. you need to replace the entire top. about $3,000 if I remember correctly from reading about it before.

I'm thinking that I'm just gonna have to cut out a piece of plexiglass or lexan to shape and glue it in place of the glass with the original fabric surround. The one that I had already meticulously glued to the perimeter of the F*#&#ing glass opening. I think it will be lighter for the glue to hold but of course im prolly not gonna have the rear defroster option.

Ive already got some replies from national salvage yard databases online for the glass but I still have to figure the price with them.

The safelite people don't even do convertible top windows. Ain't that fortunate. Why couldn't she have broken the side windows?[]

Dude just open an insurance claim and pay the deductible for a new convert top including window.

Do it right the first time (in your case the 2nd time) and you wont have to worry about glue, etc.

Problem is that I don't have comprehensive insurance or full coverage. Liability coverage only.

I only had full coverage when I was paying off the car.

What do you guys think of those new vert tops for sale on eGay? They are only like 400 bones plush shipping, its seems like a good product to me. Right now it seems like thats my only option, an original top I was quoted at 1500.

This seems to be the same top that everyone is selling on Ebay but yours is indeed the lowest price I have found.

Just a few questions guys.

Im just wondering if there is anyone in the community that has installed this top. Is it worth the money? Or should I just wait to find aused OEM replacement? Theres an OEM one on ebay right now for 700 bux.

My roadster has the automatic top. Has anyone installed a top (no matter which brand) on one of these? I am an experienced mechanic but I have not really looked into how the open/close mechanism works. Im just wondering if it is really difficult, or what is easy to break. Any writeups/drawings would be helpful.

Replacing all the mechanisms that control the top is a huge job. Fortunately you only have to replace the canvas top. Actually, if I understand your post correctly, you only really need to replace the rear window. If it were me, I would exaust all options at replacing only the window before spending that much money for the entire top.
