I don't know how mechanically inclined you are... and if you have any experience doing turbo work.. but the FMIC is a pretty easy install... but the turbo itself will cost you quite a bit in labor; you might wanna set aside at least $800-$1,000 for labor if you don't plan to do the work yourself. Otherwise, I agree with Nate. But if you set aside the $1k for labor... you can easily get a big turbo kit for under $4k

the problem you'll have tho... is that if you blow your whole wad on the turbo kit... you'll end up with a ton of power and lacking the braking ability to safely stop your car once you get it really moving.. and thats extremely dangerous.

I ALWAYS recommend that before adding more than 100-300HP to your car... you should definitely upgrade your brakes first, your cooling (intercooler), and strengthen your suspension. The worst thing you can do is create a Super rocket car that you cant control or stop. You really don't need to do a ton on the suspension, but I'd say polyurethane bushings... and sway bars are almost a must... otherwise you'll roll the damn thing the first time you try to turn at speed... and since you wont have the brakes to slow down before turning... you'll HAVE TO turn at speed. So yea... at least one or the other... if you cant strengthen the suspension to prevent rolling... then at least upgrade the brakes so you wont have to turn at such high speeds.

Where do you live??

If you live anywhere near Alabama/Georgia, you can just go to the APR shop and let THEM put it in.

So you have $5k to spend and you want to buy a $7k turbo kit AND have it installed? My math may be off but isnt 7 > 5?

A 50trim kit from pagparts is around $3500 for everything. Add in a fmic $500-1k and another $500 or so for an install if you cant do it. hhhhmmm Mild 20psi will get you ~300whp, build the motor and add other parts and 350-375whp is doable on pump and 425-450whp on race gas is doable
