WTF well now the original poster of that thread has "removed" all of the info in the thread.

something fishy is going on....

also, i just called audi of america, and they say they know nothing about this "lawsuit" and told me to contact the original dealer that my car was purchased from.

call to original dealer:

me: "can i get service and recall history on my car from you guys?"

her: "NO"

me: "um, okay. well... do you know anything about replacing clusters due to a recent lawsuit?"

her: "NO. and we wouldnt fix anything for free. we are an independent audi dealership."

me: "right, well, if audi was held liable for the clusters wouldnt you do the service and have audi reimburse you for the expense?"

her: "NO."

me: "well thanks you have been a GREAT help."

WTF? never buy a car from "legend autorama porsche-audi-VW" in amityville NY

FYI: I removed the above post because I had not cleared it with counsel for Audi first. Do not take the removal of my post as an indication that there is any change in the settlement.

If this is the case, there is no actual settlement as of yet.

okay well i talked to audi of america again and opened a case with them.

they still say they know nothing re: this lawsuit.

anyway, the first thing to do is to go to a DEALERSHIP, get your car looked at by them, and get confirmation from them that the cluster is indeed bad and in need of replacing.

after that, go back to AOA and see what they can do for you.

that is my course of action and i will post back with results....

Let me clarify. There is a settlement agreement, but as with all class action settlements it goes through two stages (a) preliminary approval (which was received), and final approval (which the judge will decide later). Notice was sent out to notify all class members of their rights, some of which are the right to submit a claim or the right to object. The notice provides deadlines to file claimsand/orobject, or exclude yourself. The notice also provides a date for the "fairness hearing" at which the judge will make a final determination on the settlement and any objections.

The reason I took down my post was because such posting was not specified in the preliminary approval order setting forth the notice plan. While I believe the posting was not inappropriate, Audi's counsel disagreed, so to avoid an unnecessryfight, I took it down.

As an aisde, I would not expect a dealership or customer service to know of or acknowledge the agreement because the court has yet to grant final approval it.

I apologize for any confusion, but when you get the Notice or go to the settlement website, read the documentation carefully so you understand your rights and then take whatever action you deem appropriate. Mind the deadlines, as they are not flexible.
