I'm just dreaming but is it possible to talke the 5 speed manual tranny from the 180hp Quattro TT and put it in the 180hp FWD TT? I guess what I really want to know is it possible to make my FWD TT a manual and if it is then how?

 

If your trying to make a fwd car awd, its cheaper to just sell your car and get a awd model. The car is TOTALLY differnt.

Now, 5spd to 6spd is doable and probably very worth it to some

I may have read that different. But, I think he may want to keep the FWD setup, but swap in a manual transmission.

if you just want to make your car a 5 speed, you can take the o2a out of the vw gti or jetta AWP 1.8t and put it in your car. but if you want to use a all wheel drive 5 speed in front wheel drive configuration it will work, you just have to mod the downpipe on your car.

 

you make it sound so easy Ray. You dont mention that you have to redue the interior for a auto to 5spd or completely cut out the rear floor pan and swap in a TTQC floor pan among many other things. Much more than a dp swap.

i said to just use the tranny and not a awd conversion. cmon bro i know better than that.
