Default Transfer Box

I have a problem with my 2000 Audi TT Quattro. I was feeling the car unstable especially on acceleration and also the car went to safe mode 4 times by now.

My mechanic tried to diagnose the problem with the safe mode with a diagnostic but nothing appeared.

He also drove my car and suggested that the cause of the problem that the car is unstable and loss of power is due to the transfer box. I seems logical to me but i would like to know whether the two problems might relate.

Also when i tried to find a replacement part (used transfer box) they requested Eur.600 which i think is very expensive. I managed to identify on ebay for GBP 190.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

The rear end has nothing to do with loss of power. The mechanic you took it to appears to know **** about your car. Youll find that most mechanics know nothing about the TT. Your going to have to learn a LOT or be prepared to have monkeys mess up your car. Ask me how I know..
