tranny fluid? which one?

RE: tranny fluid? which one?
Just did mine with Mobile1 75w-90gearoil, from autozone.
Really easy to do. Make sure you're on a level surface. You'll need3 quarts of oil.
1. Take off bottom sound insulation panel.
2. Get oil catch pan in place.
3. My 2001 225 uses a 14mm hex drainplug, yours might too. It might be a 12 point inverted socket which would suck cause it's kinda hard to find locally.
4. Undo the drain plug (it should be about a foot to the side of the oil drain plug) and let drain completely into the catch pan. It will take a few minutes.
5. Put back in the drain plug.
6. The fill plug will be on the front of thetransmission (looking from the front of the car)andshould use the same tool to open. Should be about 6 inches higher than the drain plug.
7. Use some kind of pump or suction gun to put new oil back in the transmission. This part is very messy.
8. Put everything back.
9. Do a few shifts before you start up the car. Should get smoother over time and will everntually make shifting like butta!!! :-)

Redline MT 90 is fine, I think most people use it. I went with Mobil 1 this time around. If you don't have one, pick up a a suction/pump for about $15. Looks like a grease gun tube with a rear push handle. You can pour into, attach a 1' length of clear tubing for a nearly mess-free job.
