Default Trade-In Value

Hey everybody,

Does anybody have experience with trading in a Mk1 at a dealership?

Is Kelley Blue Book/TMV a generally good indicator of how much you should expect for trade-ins? Every Mk1 I've seen on sale on Autotrader, Cars.com, etc are priced way over KBB/TMV, so I was wondering how it affects the trade-in value.

Thanks in advance.

You see all those cars for sale because as a rule, trade in value is a joke and is a last resort or simply for convenience.

Trade in value is always less than retail or private party. In 8/09 I was able to get 9k on my 225 w/ 70k miles for my trade. Mods mean Jack to the dealer....so don't count that in, they could care less. Hope that helps to answer some of your questions.
