Default Tire Fitment

So I've been searching around everywhere and I'm a bit stuck.

I'm running a set of Konig holes, 18X7.5, and I'm ordering new tires as soon as I figure out what size I want/need.

Currcently running a 225/40 But I want the widest tire that will fit without rubbing, and something a shade talling for a lil extra give if I hit any pot holes, Michigan roads are hooorible.!

Maybe a 245 50? or 245 45? Theres no real calculator to tell if it will rub, or fit, just have had to search google to see what tires will fit and that's even been a pain.

I'd appreciate it guys!

If you wanted more sidewall, you shouldnt of gotten 18's. Getting a 45 or 50 series tire will make them WAY to tall and throw off the speedo. best you can get is 235 or 245/40's. You wont rub unless you go a higher offset than stock since its the same width.

I'm not TOO worried about the speedo, just the fitment, If i remember right the konigs are a 45 offset, I'm also doing shocks and lowering springs at the same time, and wheel spacers following, so if they will even fit with spacers, i'm fine with doing that at the same time too.

This was my first set of 18's, I mean, the ride doesn't bother me, I just rather have the extra sidewall in case i hit anything, so i figured I'd see what would work before I ordered them.

So a 245 40 would fit a 7.5 width rim? Think they will rub at all with the extra offset? or should i just go for the spacers, account for the extra width and go from there?

alright awesome, now, how should i go about accounting the extra width into ordering the spacers when i do? I've used the calculator someone has made specifically for our cars, but the calc doesnt say anything about accounting for the extra width in the tires. just states the measurements will very due to tire widths

I mean, theoretically i would just subtract 10mm from the offset calculator, because each side will stick out 10 more compaired to a 225? or am i completely clueless.

just curious bobby, you running a 40 ratio or 35? could i bother ya for a pic of your tt just to see what i should be expecting?

actually, running the sizes through a tire calculator, the 245 45 18 will only throw my speedo off a shade under 4mph, i can live with that.

does anyone know if these with a 45 offset will rub? i just do not want to get these and be SOL, know what i mean?

if you want sidewall.... GET 17'S. HELL, GET 16's! 45's will raise your car and driving with the gauge being 4mph off will be annoying. Just buy the correct tires and be done with it.

Also, do you know how small 10mm's is? its less than 1/2 and inch. Not going to rub anything.

Ok, simple answer to a simple question, for being a moderator in place to help people, you act like a jerk. I'm new to browsing different tire options. See word: new

Thanks though!
