Default TIMING BELT BROKE!

**** i was getting ready to order my diesel geek timing belt kit and what happens it breaks already have 200 wrapped up in labor to make sure it was the belt ----so since i have a warrenty from my dealer i'm sending my car there and they will do all the repairs he tells me and everything is covered. We'll see he might be trying to bullshit me. Anyway my point for writing this is my car has only 87k and the damn thing came off the roller or tension or somthing. i suggest changing this belt every 60k miles it will save you money in the long run!!!!! hopefully this whole damaged engine and what not is going to be covered under this warrenty please pray for me!!! i dont have 5k to spend on this car right now!

Ahh, I've been preaching the 60K belt change, and this is why.
Sorry to hear it, but let it be a lesson to anyone else trying to push it past the 60K mark. Thats a heck of a gamble.

good luck with your shop.

Nice to see that Audi is going to cover it with the mods you have. I have almost the same ones (intake, DV, chip & exhaust) and I was wondering if they were going to give me crap about them when stuff breaks....

Ok, my water jumped closed, timing belt broke and other things went wrong with my car two weeks ago. I feel your pain. Good thing I got the extended warranty when I bought my 00 Audi TT. Right now I have 90K on mine.

About how much cash does it take to have Audi change the timeing belt?? My car has 138000 miles on it and i do not know if the belt has ever been changed. I am starting to get scared.
