I always thought this ticking noise was normal, because i heard a lot in many audis before, but i have read in some posts, that it could bea problem. Is this really true!!

 

depends. Most times it is just valve chatter. But when it starts sounding funny, its often time the cam tensioner. If you have a nonVVT car its cheap to replace (under $100 from ecs i believe) and if you have vvt, its pricey as hell ($700 on ecs).

 

what ticking noise? in the engine? in the interior? need more info....

 

The fuel injectors are kinda loud, but its easy to stick your ear down next to them to see if thats the source of the noise. Otherwise, there really shouldn't be any noise that stands right out. I'd say the hydraulic lifters are next in line for noises, you can try running a heavier oil to see if they quiet down if you think its something other than the injectors.

 

it's really not super loud. I have to open up the hood and go close up to hear it.

 

Sounds like your fine to me. If it gets louder and changes pitch, then you should worry.
