Thinking about getting a TT opinion

Thinking about getting a TT opinion
First time buying a car without any help
Im trying to spend around 10k on one (savings), Im trying to skip having car payments
Whats a decent mileage range on a 00 or 01? Without having to worry about the car breaking down on me
I have a couple in mind in my area the one with the lowest miles(55k) is $12500 dunno if I could talk them down or not, not too keen on the color(prefer black)either but the car looks slick.

This one is a convert but has 100K plus miles I was going to offer 8500 to try and get a deal

Im in the DC area so if any of the ones seem like an actual deal let me know (only like 16 in my range but most have 80k+ miles)

Just for future reference whats the best combo of drivetrain features to have ideally like awd vs fwd and 5 vs 6 speed transmissions.

That one has 106k miles is this a car that you can confidently buy with miles over the 100k mark?
In one way i see it as cool cause i wont have to pay a 300+ car payment everymonth but I dont want to have to throw down an extra 4k to maintain the car in the first year. For members who bought cars with a large amount of miles what usually did you put into the car in the first year to get it straight?

It's unavoidable that you will end up doing some mod down the line! Those who say they won't, ALWAYS end up doing so in the end!
It's a sickness really... yet one with such a sweet, sweet prognosis!
Anyway the 1.8T is a proven engine. As long as the car was well cared for and maintained there really shouldn't be a problem.
Check out the FAQ in this TT section; there is a TT buyers guide that has helped many!
Good luck in your search!
