Default TB job payment - Dealership

If I had the stealership do a TB job on my TT, how do they usually handle payment?

Is this something that you can setup as a payment plan or do they expect 100% up front before you get your car back?

I have an extended warrenty and am not all too worried about it, I'd just like to know before / if anything happens. My car is reaching the 75k mark.... still running great; except I have to clean my MAF and fuel senders.

Let me know - thanks!

Your car will run great until the TB snaps.

My dealer holds your keys until the service is paid in full.

Why not just order a kit and have a indy shop install it? Its about $500 cheaper that way. Also you should make sure that the warrenty covers the TB snap since i have seen others not.

Not sure its legal for them to hold your car, unless you signed something agreeing to that. Thats a lot of collateral for the work done. Maybe it they wanted to just hold your rims or something.....

shopscan a do hold cars until payment is recieved. If they are not paid they can put a mechanics lein on it and own the car. the dealer or a indy shop shouldnt charge until the car is complete.

Maybe you could do it yourself. If you have a some tools. I did mine and it was not all that difficult. it just took a while. There are several good write ups out there that could help you.

I'd like to do it myself but I don't have a garage or driveway to work on my vehicle.
I haven't lived in Dallas for very long; still trying to settle in.
