when i stop, i SOMTIMES hear a "knocking" sound
as if someone was in the trunk knocking...?

anyone else heard this noise or figured out HOW TO STOP IT?

Did you check the donut?
I know if I have anything in the trunk it always slams around.

 

yes, everything is tiddy back there

it knocks maybe 3-5 times...

i had the same problem when i had a shock loose or was going bad i dunno if its the same prob but you could check it out

 

I had the knocking when I was having trouble with a fuel sender, it still thumps every now and then.

b/c i got this TT with 37K and its a bit rougher than i had imagined
i am going to drop it but was wondering if i should do the shocks/struts at the same time

i hope the noise goes away...
so its NOT a fuel issue

With two of my Mercedes-Benzes, we found that the plug wires had gone bad causing mis- and back-firing... In my case, I had some unburnt 'burps' of fuel which made that knocking sound.

 

I get the same sound, my guess was fuel sloshing in the tank, making something bump against the sides of the tank. Kinda hard to diagnose now that my cars beat up.

 

I get that sound too! I hope its nothing I should worry about...
