So if you are NOTa 20 something male...
...what does insurance run you on a 2001 TT roadster? My agent is calling me back any minute with the price. Mind you, I am used to liability only on a '92 Celica so I KNOW it's gonna hurt.
(You young guys will skew the stats and scare me - wait, maybe I DO want to hear from you because then my quote will sound good!)

It was a GT 5 speed convertible. LOVED that car. Still do; it is sitting outside like an abandoned child. Or worse - buying the TT while my car is still parked outside, undriveable, feels kinda like marrying a hot young stud while my husband of decades is on a feeding tube at the hospice.
YES I am working through some guilt issues!!

Man I LOVED that car. Did a nationwide search for it, found it in Atlanta, rigged a work trip and drove it home to Mpls. Sweet. It was like an adoption; the sellers had some financial bad luck and had to let her go. They wanted pictures in her new home!
Ah well. I am hoping to bond with my TT but there's nothing like first love, right?
(As to the other, I already have two I can't afford - the TT and the real deal!)

I have a 2001 225 coupe and insurance is around $800/year full coverage through USAA. I'm 33, married, and no accidents or tickets all of which helps. Just don't tell my agent about the track days.
I've found insurance to be reasonable on the TT. My previous car, an SUV was about the same price...maybe they figure the TT, while costing more, is a smaller target to hit and can't do as much damage to other cars, people, etc.
