BS'ing with one of the service advisors today, who is also an avid car fanatic, about the plans for the ride. Happened to mention the methanol kit and he had an extra one sitting in his garage, that now belongs to ME. He got two in a group buy on Honda-Tech awhile back, one for his Type-R and the other just because.

Its a stage II MAP style kit, so perfect for my VAG car as well. I also picked up an extra MBC he has layin around, which will be employed as a boost spike controller once I crank the wastegate after the re-flash. Made arrangements to get a full 3" turbo-back exhuast welded up, which I think I'm gonna do without any cats or mufflers on a single outlet. Might also be getting hooked up with an old laptop for lemmiwinks/VAG-COM and datalogging purposes.

He is part of a local race team that specialize in Hondas (and I dont mean a car club, they build full on race cars) so he will undoubtedly end up being a very useful resource. He's actually the guy who bought my hatch and is fairly impressed with my DIY ingenuity, so we made fast friends.

Not bad for a day at work. Im pretty excited to see how the intercooler sprayer and meth/water injection team up to annhialate the high intake temps. All I need now is a diode for the MAP signal, a re-flash and some lemmiwinks/VAG tuning and I'll be running 20PSI on the k03s until it takes a dump.

Took delivery on the meth kit today and the only part its short of is a resivoir (he used his stock windshield washer bottle) so thats the only part I have to figure out.

I have two theories: 1) Run the stock washer bottle in the fender. The benefit would be a free 'methanol low' level sensor and some measure of stealth, the downside is having to disable the aliens as I dont want methanol or alcohol (depending on what I decide) spraying on the headlights if its needed to keep knock in check with agressive timing. 2) Buy a resivoir and level safety switch and find somewhere to mount it, which the only downside to that is space. The pump for the system will be mounted in the same place the secondary intercooler would go on the 225. Other then that everything was kosher, and I have nothing to complain about since I paid nothing for it.

I cant wait to get the waterpump fixed and a reflash so I can really start having some fun with this motor.

 

you can use your washer fluid tank and you can also inject washer fluid. Washer fluid is water and about 25% meth already. Or if you want you can use just distilled water.Water has the best cooling effect and depending on what you wish to run will depend on where you install the jet.

 

I guess I could just add another bung to the stock bottle and still have funtional Windshield/Headlight Sprayers AND Meth injection with the benefit of a low level sensor. I wouldnt be able to subsitiute an Alcohol/Water mix though, or ever test out the NitroBooster mix from SnowPerformance.

I planned on drilling/tapping the TB housing for the sprayer nozzle. Or possibly the intake hose right before the TB like a standard nitrous install.

your not going to get much more out of that nitro booster than just water or ww fluid. My plans are to tap the ww resivour and run a nitrous tb plate to inject from. Some people on vortex have done it this way and it saves you from risking you tb which isnt cheap to replace and easier than tapping your intercooler piping just before the tb.
