Should I trade the TT for a 2009 Jetta TDI

Should I trade the TT for a 2009 Jetta TDI
I am thinking of letting the TT go. It's a 2005 3.2 Coupe with 38K on her now. I have been driving 100 miles a day, averaging 29 MPG. Not that bad, but the miles on the car are killing me.
So.... I have been looking around for a car that I can put 30K a year on, not feel bad about it. I drive a 2009 Jetta TDI today at White Allen VW in Dayton, OH. (See Chris, he will let you drive it.)
It drove very nice, very low engine noise, (could not hear the engine inside the car), tons of torque, and good acceleration (not TT good, but it would do). It has DSG, but no pedal shifters on the leather steering wheel Not sold on the interior, once you see a TT everything comes second. Seats??
Even with the price of Diesel it would save me $600 on just fuel.
What do you think? Chris said there will be a limited number, so I may not have a choice this year anyway.

trade your TT to this guy:

it will solve both of your problems:
you will get better gas mileage, and he will get a 3.2 =)

So $600 a year on gas doesnt really sound like much when you break it down to how much you would save each time you fill up. Thats like $50 a month. Id glady pay 50 extra a month for a more sporty motor which is fun to drive. IS the GTI non TDI the same price?

I'd keep the TT, personally. It's such a cozy commuter car. It's tiny and has lots of power too which makes it a pleasure to glide through traffic. The interior and all the amenities that come with it (nice sound, snug heated seats, lots of room) make it a pleasure for me even on long trips.
Just me though.

I agree 100% with TTsteve, it makes my 100 mile-a-day drive enjoyable. I have not priced out a GTi or GLi, they do have better interiors.
This would be sooo much easier if I was not a gear head.

id say keep the TT. the gas savings dont sound too significant. and the caliber of car is completely different as you already know.
HYou spend all your time inside, and as you said, youre nto so sold on the interior of the Jetta. I feel like you'll just miss the TT

storx from another forum made this suggestion: Build a TDI TT
I am thinking this maybe a great idea for me. Anyone know how much work is involved?
I located a rebuildable Coupe, 6 speed, quattro, hit up front.
Will the 1.9l bolt up? How much work for ECU? Is this a crazy idea?
