Default Ricky's 35R TT

Hey guys,

We have been meaning to put this car up on forums for awhile but have been busy with other projects. Ricky, one of the techs here at R.A.I. had a 24V VR6 engine and harness that he aquired a few months back, and was waiting for the perfect car to put it in. Coming from Volkswagens, he was tired of the FWD wheelspin when making big power, so he bought Ray's TT that had been sitting at the shop with a blown engine. This was the perfect platform, because it is made to house the 24V VR6 and comes with AWD, an unbeatable combination. It only took him a week, and at the end he had the TT blasting down Coastal Highway on our way to Dubs @ The Beach. We put it on the dyno at wastegate pressure (~17psi) and the car did ~420awhp. He is planning on a new fuel system in the future and more boost, but it's not so bad how it sits right now!

Looks good.

whats the back story on the blown engine though? Was it an impressive shower of oil and bits of rod and block?

Ray just ruined it. I was about to write an epic story of a 1.8T rods heroic battle for power

Story is about as epic as my motor failure. I was idling in traffic, gave it a little gas to move 5' ahead, and spit a rod thru the oil pan.

I mean.. I was pushing it to redline racing an F-16 out of the local Air National Guard when the massive K04 turbo injested a small child, who unfortunately, was much lower than the 230 octane super fuel I normally run, causing my car to detonate. Turbo made it out with only a slightly bent blade tip strangely....

I've seen a Gerber multi-Tool or Leatherman multi-tool go through a GE-701 Helicopter engine... children are much softer.
I buy it.
