Default Rental...

Okay, so I just went to get a rental car after I dropped my TT off to get repaired.

Wouldn't you know I get some crappy Mitsubishi Lancer from like 1991...I look like a complete tool in this car.

This makes me miss my baby even more.

I can only hope that I get it back sooner than what was initally told to me.

I'm pretty responsible with other people's ****, and it used to **** me off to see people beat on rentals.
It's crappy to get a car that's not yours, and have it falling apart and being embarrassing.

I always used to buy the insurance, bring it back with extra gas, treat it as if I borrowed it, etc.
But... now that most charge a fee for under drivers 25... I beat the snot out of them for charging me.

Now, I make sure I burn at least the extra $ they charge off the tires, and the added wear and tear is my little slap in the face for trying to screw me in the first place.

Well, actually my insurance is a bunch of bastards!!! They told me to take the rental back and get my TT from the body shop...I asked why and this is the response that followed:

Sir, the estimate for your vehicle has not been approved yet, therefore, we will need you to return the rental and get your vehicle back if its driveable.

I said, yeah its driveable, but how the hell am I supposed to drive it when its in the shop? Then they said, well you do have $30 dollars a day rental coverage on your policy, but if the vehicle is driveable then you dont recieve that coverage. i was like WTF??? i then said, so I have the rental coverage, but I cant get a rental car if the car is driveable?? they said yes.

This doesnt make any sence to me...i then asked, so if i want a rental car while my car is in the shop 3-4 days, i have to pay outta pocket?? He said yes....BS!!!!!! What the hell do i have rental coverage for if i cant use it???

So now, I have to wait until Friday for the estimate to be approved, which means I cant drop my car off until Monday.

So, I took back the rental, which I had no longer than an hour-hour and a half...the charged me the full day rental...PISSED!!!

I get to the auto body shop where my car is...lucky for me I got there when I did...they were actually about to take my car back and start working on it!! i hate my insurance company...the car would've been on its way to being repaired as we speak...and theres no way my insurance can speed it up.

If they are working on the car it's not driveable.

Tell them they were working on the car, and you need to be reimbursed.

Ins companies make $ by weaseling out of anything and everything.

You have to fight to get a fair deal on anything, don't ever take their first offer, or no for an answer.

They as bad as a used car salesmen...

Get the rental hook up a shot of dry nitrous ohh about 100 or 150 and take it to the local track, let us know what you run. If you dont blow it then it will deffinatly take alot of life off the motor.

Have the shop pull the car apart and tell the insurance company it isn't driveable without the hood, fenders, etc... due to state laws prohibiting driving without body panels etc. Usually it is illegal anyway. Not to mention your car isn't driveable when it's up on a lift without wheels on it.
