i have a 2001 audi tt quatro and was inquiring if our remotes have batteries? i tried to program it and nothing happened. maybe im doing it wrong, how do we program these keys?

Yes.

There is a slot on the back side of the key (above the audi rings).
Slide a screwdriver in there and push to open it. Replace the battery and try it again.

If that doesn't work there is a longer process to reset the keys which I have been too lazy to do for my spare key.
