That is how you hook it up. Dont know why they do that. kind of sucks thats the way a nice gauge comes.

I have always used AM gauges, they aren't as fancy as some such as defi but they get the job done. I myself have always ditched the hard nylon line and use thick walled vacuum hose. I find that the nylon tends to kink too easy and get pinched. As far as electrical connections go...isn't that what the spades are for? The AM's that I have used come with a lightbulb with pig tails ready to splice. Also note if you do choose to replace the nylon line you can ditch the boot reducer and attach it directly to the T. You would also ditch the compression bead and hex nut. Just lube up the hose and stretch it over the hex nut with thethreaded nipple.

Oh yeah dont forget the thread tape and zip tie your connections!

Yes we know....thats why I stated:

"As far as electrical connections go...isn't that what the spades are for?"

You can pick a pack up of female spade connectors for a couple bux at the parts store. Didn't the gauge come with a small roll of wire? Connect to the dimmer wire on the backside of the light switch (blue/grey wire) and ground out on the grounding lug behind the lower dash assembly. Easily spotted...alll brown wires going to it.
