Default random vac problem

Ok guys, tell me what you think...

Every so often when I start my car, my boost gauge stays at 0 when running. The car drives fine under low boost, the DV works and you can hear it spooling. If I run it a little hard it will start to sputter and surge in a way that reminds me of fuel cut. It does not go into limp mode when it does this. It seems to happen for about 10-15 minutes when it acts this way, but I've found no patterns. Only that is usually happens after sitting all night. I would say it happened about 5 times in the past 7-8 weeks, 2 of which were within the last 7-8 days.

Eventually the gauge will begin to read the normal amount of vac, and the car drives fine. I have a CEL, but got it read and it is for a coolant temp sensor. No VAG COM just yet, but I think I will buy it for myself for my birthday here on the 27th.

Any ideas?

I originally thought maybe it was a faulty gauge, but the car acting funny with fuel-cut-like symptoms leads me to believe it is something different.

normal, just below 1K ish

PS-sorry about your wheel, and the wait to get a new one. I was looking into those, cuz they're hot, but TireRack said late June til they were in. Sucks that you have to wait that long for a replacement
